An experienced full-time teacher is sought to lead and develop the specialist provision for young people with sensory impairment in Post-16 college settings across Oxfordshire, commencing September 2018. You will ideally hold a mandatory qualification in a sensory impairment (hearing, visual or multi-sensory impairment) or be willing to train to achieve a mandatory qualification in one of the sensory areas
The role requires an experienced teacher, with a broad, detailed and experience based knowledge of special educational needs and disability, particularly in relation to sensory impairment, who is resilient, reflective and solution focussed. A sound understanding of best management practice and an ability to effectively lead and motivate a team, with a clear commitment to inclusive education is essential.
You’ll be highly effective as a teacher with a good ability to assess, plan, adapt and review teaching interventions so that there is a notable impact on the quality of pupil outcomes.
Your communication and interpersonal skills will be excellent. You will also have high aspirations for pupil outcomes and a strong commitment to inclusive education.
You will be joining a well-established service that is highly regarded by educational settings and other services/organisations in Oxfordshire.
The ability to travel is essential and a mileage allowance is paid.
