Do you believe that every young person should be supported to reach their potential?
New College Worcester provides specialist education for 11 – 19 year olds who are blind or visually impaired with onsite residential student accommodation. The Senior Houseparent role at New College Worcester oversees and leads one of our houses at the College, ensuring that staff work effectively to support children to access opportunities and achieve. With oversight of rotas, house budgets, assessments and contact with parents/carers and other professionals, amongst other tasks, this is a busy role which offers enormous reward in seeing our young people develop through adolescence. The post includes a leading role, both in the house and as part of the Care Management Team with visibility across the College, as well as considerable day to day direct work with children and sleep-in responsibilities.
It is a pre-requisite of the post that Senior Houseparents either live on site in individual three bedroom accommodation, with a significantly reduced rent, or within 30 minutes from College.
