The Berkshire Sensory Consortium Service is a specialist education support service for young people aged 0-25 with hearing, vision or multi-sensory impairment. The Service works across the six Berkshire Unitary Authorities as part of a joint arrangement which is currently hosted by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. The post is currently based in Maidenhead.

The Sensory Consortium is looking to appoint a Head of Service who will provide professional leadership to secure the best outcomes for children and young people in partnership with families, schools and other professionals. The post holder will drive the Service forward, building on the key features and organisational structure currently in place alongside effective management of the specialist staff and service delivery. They will work in collaboration with commissioners and senior leaders across the whole of Berkshire to develop the strategic direction of the Service which is responsive to the changing national context of SEND provision.
