The Visual Impairment Team in Coventry provides high quality support to children and young people with visual impairments across the city. You will need to be creative, adaptable and sensitive to the individual needs of visually impaired children, young people and families. Successful team-working experience and excellent inter-personal skills are essential.
A specialist VI teacher qualification is desirable, however applications will be considered from candidates with successful experience in meeting the needs of children with SEN and with an understanding of the needs of children with a visual impairment who are committed to undertaking the mandatory VI Specialist Teacher distance learning training. Funding for this training is provided.
Coventry is a vibrant, multicultural city with a fascinating and inspiring story to tell that deserves the title City of Culture 2012. You will be joining a committed, nurturing and hardworking team that is a highly valued part of the People’s Directorate and provides a supportive working environment for staff.
