Bedford Borough Council is seeking a full time, permanent QTVI from September 2019 or as soon as possible.

Required from September 2019 a Qualified Teacher for Visually Impaired, with insight and knowledge of how to support children and young people with Visual Impairment and lead a team with a commitment to quality improvement. This is a peripatetic post.
The post holder will provide strong and outstanding leadership, supervision and line management for a range of teaching and non-teaching staff. They will be required to work with parents/carers, education professionals and other agencies to ensure pupils with a visual impairment have the opportunity to become independent learners. Key skills include: excellent IT skills, knowledge of Braille and a good knowledge of specialist visual aid technology and equipment. The candidate should have experience of mainstream teaching across a range of Key stages including preschool.
