An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the highly regarded Vision Support Team as a Specialist Advisory Teacher to support children and young people, their families and educational settings across Barnsley.

We require a qualified and experienced Teacher of Children and Young People with Vision Impairment (QTVI) to provide support for children and young people with Visual Impairments in schools and settings across Barnsley.

This role is part of the Education Inclusion Services. You will be responsible for ensuring that the educational and development progress of children and young people (0-25) with Visual Impairment Needs is met in line with the Barnsley SEND Strategy.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to meet deadlines, willingness to learn new skills and maintain an up to date working knowledge of issues related to visual impairment.

As part of this role, you will be required to travel to schools, settings and family homes out in the community.
