The Berkshire Sensory Consortium Service (BSCS) are looking to appoint a Vision Impairment Team Coordinator due to the retirement of the current post holder. This is an exciting opportunity to join a large Service working across Berkshire leading the VI Team of Teachers of the Vision Impaired, Qualified
Educational Support Teaching Assistants and our Registered Qualified Habilitation Officers.
As a member of the Leadership and Management Team the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with the Head of Service to shape the direction of the Consortium and to lead on projects within the Service. They will hold 0.2fte of teaching time and the rest will be management.
The role involves responsibility for the caseload organisation and line management of the VI team and therefore the successful candidate will need to have the right skills and professional knowledge to support staff to improve outcomes for CYP who are vision impaired and to enable capacity building
within schools, settings and families. The Service has a successful record of inclusion of CYP within their local mainstream schools. The Service are currently looking to develop their pupil progress tracking systems and Post 16 provision.
The successful candidate will need to have a thorough knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and the ability to work operationally and strategically with commissioners and SEND Leaders in an ever changing educational and technological landscape.

Salary is in line with Teachers Pay and Conditions.
Due to the nature of this role you must be able to travel independently to meet the requirements of the post, for which a mileage allowance will be available.
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable. The VI Team Coordinator will be supporting staff across all the Berkshire Local Authorities.
BSCS is hosted by Achieving for Children on behalf of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead as part of the pan Berkshire joint arrangements.
