Advisory Teacher for Children and Young People with Vision Impairment
Location: Royal Borough of Greenwich
The post is part time for two days a week (0.4 fte) and is a fixed term post, until 31.3.22.

We are looking for a qualified teacher of the vision impaired to join our vibrant team within Royal Greenwich Sensory Service. The team includes Teachers of the VI, teachers of the deaf, and associated support staff. We outreach to all of the Greenwich schools and also support birth to five cases in local homes and nurseries.
The role of Advisory Teacher for VI requires an energetic, highly skilled practitioner to support the Senior Advisory Teacher for Vision Impairment and the Team Leader of the Sensory Service. Excellent practice in provision to the pupils, mainstream teachers/support staff, other professionals and children’s families is essential.
The post holder will be expected to collaborate with and work under the direction of the Senior Teacher for VI. You must be able to work effectively as part of a team with a clear focus on ‘children first’.
The post holder should be a qualified teacher of the visually impaired and be experienced in working with the full 0 – 25 age range across all ability levels. An ability to work independently and with high levels of efficiency and self-organisation is essential.
