An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Sheffield Vision Support Service as a co-ordinator of a busy, successful secondary integrated resource for Blind and Visually Impaired children and young people. The successful candidate will be a qualified and experienced Teacher of Visual Impairment with outstanding teaching practice and school management experience. They will have a thorough understanding of the issues involved in including severely and profoundly visually impaired children and young people in a mainstream comprehensive school.

They will act as the KS3/KS4 Lead for the Service, promoting good practice within the integrated resource provision at Tapton and will be part of the Service’s senior leadership team, attending meetings and contributing to all aspects of service effectiveness and development. This post also involves working with the Service QTVI’s to co-ordinate transitions for pupils in all areas of the Service within the Sheffield area, and responsibility for the effective working of the integrated resource within the school. There may be opportunities for further development of this role for the successful candidate.
