Using the case studies

The case studies give you an opportunity to engage the issues around Learning Media Assessment by exploring real-life situations captured on video. You will see the perspectives of the team around the child including those of parents and children.

The accompanying text invites you to reflect upon each case and provides you with background advice and guidance. The case studies offer opportunities for individual or small group study and for INSET with your service or school colleagues.

There are three cases to look at.

• Ollie is a three year old who attends his local nursery school.
  
  
• Lizzy is a twelve year old who attends her local secondary school.
  
  
• Jake is a fifteen year old studying for his GCSEs at a secondary school with a resource base for pupils with visual impairment.
