Form 7 is designed to be used in conjunction with Form 6 (Continuing Assessment of Literacy Media) when considering whether or not a pupil has adequate literacy tools to accomplish current and future educational and vocational tasks.
Educational teams will use this form to consider the tools that have been and should be introduced to a pupil over time.
To assure that an appropriate repertoire of literacy tools is available for use by a pupil, the educational team should:
The process of examining literacy tools is life-long. As new tasks arise and new tools become available the pupil will continually update his or her skills in use of a wide range of tools.
For this reason, it is important to teach the pupil to be an active participant in evaluating his or her individual use of literacy tools and preference for tools to make accomplishment of tasks more efficient and rewarding.
