Learning media assessment

LMA process - Introduction

LMA structure

The LMA has two main phases:

Phase I - Initial selection of learning media

Phase 1 typically starts around the age of four and continues up to the age of seven (or until the child has established literacy skills).

As you can see from the diagram Phase I has two Stages:

Phase II - Continuing assessment of learning media

Phase II involves continuous progress monitoring, assessment and review to determine the effectiveness of the medium the learner is currently using.

Gathering data

The LMA provides a set of forms that are designed to assist in the gathering and recording of information at the various stages of the process. These can be used to support reviews and decision making.
