The following organisations all run events that will be of interest to children and young people with vision impairment. These events are designed to be inclusive, fun, and supportive, offering opportunities for growth, learning, and connection. - New College Worcester runs events open to all children and young people with vision impairment. Check our their events calendar.
Royal National College for the Blind (RNC)
The Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) is the UK’s leading specialist residential college for young people aged 16 to 25 who are blind or partially sighted.
- ‘Have a Go’ Activity Weekend. Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 February 2026. For young people aged 13 to 17 with a visual impairment and their families with FREE accommodation for everyone! This fun-filled taster weekend focuses on promoting independence and includes engaging sessions such as V.I. sports, music production and cooking skills. There is a social Saturday night for the young people to go bowling, while the adults enjoy an evening meal at RNC. Attendance is free and includes accommodation and meals for the whole family.
- RNC Activity Week. Tuesday 17 to Friday 20 February 2026. For young people aged 14 to 17 with a visual impairment. This residential is designed to encourage young people to socialise and develop independence skills alongside having fun! There will be range of different activities on offer such as, VI Sport, a trip out to local activity centre, bowling and a pizza evening. All for just £50.
- RNC Open Day. Friday 30 January 2026, 10am to 4pmFor prospective students and families who have a young person with a visual impairment. Are you interested in learning more about the Royal National College for the Blind? Come and visit us on Friday 30 January, and spend the day touring the college campus, including residential areas, teaching facilities, and sports academy. The day includes a free lunch and the opportunity to meet staff and students.
- Professionals’ Open Day. Thursday 19 March 2026, 10am to 3pm For any QTVI or professional who works with a visually impaired young person. Dive deeper into our campus life through a comprehensive tour. Explore our residential areas, academic facilities, and vocational spaces. Gain useful insights by attending interactive workshops led by our passionate staff from various departments.
VICTA Activity calendar
- VICTA activity calendar enables you to browse all of their current and upcoming activities for children and young adults who are blind or partially sighted. The programme includes Family Weekends, Family Days, and Early Years Days, designed to support parents and improve the emotional, social, and independent living skills of children and young adults.
LOOK UK
- Peer Mentoring and events for VI Young People – LOOK Mentors, aged 18+, assist other VI young people in building self-confidence and reaching their potential.

Thomas Pocklington Trust: STEP programme: Supporting Transitions Enriching Progress
- This programme is designed to equip blind and partially sighted students with the tools and confidence to navigate key educational transitions. Whether in secondary school preparing to move into college/sixth form, or currently in college/sixth form planning transition to university, STEP provides you with the information, advice and support to succeed at this crucial time. It includes tailored sessions around a variety of different topics with a blend of online and in-person events.

Royal Society for Blind Children support for families (including launch of new Welsh Social Group)
- Royal Society for Blind Children (RSBC) activities, events and services to support young people, parents or carers or other family members
- Royal Society for Blind Children (RSBC) online and in-person groups, activities and events for children and young people
- As part of the National Lottery-funded Eye Connect Cymru project, the Royal Society for Blind Children (RSBC) is starting a Welsh Social Group for children and young people across Wales aged 10 to 16 years. The group will meet monthly, via Zoom, on the last Wednesday of the month.
Outlook Trust
- The Outlook Trust organises adventure sports activity weekends and holidays for blind and partially sighted children, offering activities like kayaking, cycling, and sailing to build confidence and provide engaging experiences.
British Blind Sport
- As the national sports charity for children and adults with sight loss, British Blind Sport organises “Have a Go Days,” offering opportunities to try sports like goalball, football, boccia, and more.
Goalball UK
- Goalball is a team sport played indoors by athletes with vision impairment. The object of the game is to roll the ball into the opponent’s goal – explore forthcoming Goalball events
