Permanent, Part Time working 13 hours - 0.4 FTE, MPS + UPS (if applicable) + TLR2 depending upon qualifications (From September 2024 or as soon as possible after this date).
Bristol Sensory Support Service works across the four unitary authorities of Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. We currently have a QTVI vacancy to work in a peripatetic role with schools, early years settings, special schools, colleges and families (0-25); to build their capacity to meet the needs of learners with vision impairment, through our Advisory and Teaching programmes.
You will be an enthusiastic, motivated professional who has commitment to working in partnership with our stakeholders and seeking to improve the outcomes for all our young people with vision impairment. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, the ability to work independently, and the ability to contribute to the wider team within the Service. Being well organised and able to meet deadlines is essential.
We will also consider suitably experienced teachers without the mandatory qualification who are interested in developing their skills in this field. You will need to be an outstanding practitioner who has recent classroom teaching experience, a passion for SEND, and a willing to undertake the two-year specialist postgraduate qualification to train as a QTVI. The Service provides a mentor for all new members of staff and for those in training.
Due to the nature of this role, you are required to travel independent to meet the requirements of this post.
