We are looking for a Qualified Teacher of Children and Young People with Vision
Impairment to provide assessment, teaching and support for children and young people
with vision impairment from birth – 25 years. We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed
and highly motivated teacher to join this vibrant team, and be flexible in their ways of
working in order to meet the wide range of needs and age range of children and young
people with vision impairment that the team supports.

*We are looking for a Qualified Teacher of Children and Young People with Vision
Impairment to provide assessment, teaching and support for children and young people
with vision impairment from birth – 25 years. We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed
and highly motivated teacher to join this vibrant team, and be flexible in their ways of
working in order to meet the wide range of needs and age range of children and young
people with vision impairment that the team supports.
*The team provides support to families and educational settings to raise achievement,
promote inclusion and improve access to learning opportunities for children and young
people with vision impairment across all age ranges, within the city of Birmingham.
*This position will involve working in family homes, nurseries, mainstream schools, special
schools and FE colleges and travelling across the city of Birmingham.
*Candidates for this post must hold qualified teacher status.
*We will consider applications from Qualified Teachers of Children and Young people with
Vision Impairment who hold the mandatory qualification, as well as from those who are
currently undertaking the mandatory qualification, or those qualified teachers who have
experience teaching CYP with vision impairment who would be willing to undertake the
mandatory training.
*We are committed to the safeguarding of all children and young people. Any offer of
employment will be subject to the receipt of a satisfactory enhanced level DBS disclosure,
two satisfactory references and successful completion of pre-employment vetting
procedures.
